The Spotted Pardalote is one of the smallest, most beautiful, and colourful of the passerine birds in Australia. Passerines are the "perching birds" or songbirds of the bird world. The Spotted Pardalote is tiny, roughly 8-10cm and about the size of a thumb, and is known for its characteristic, high-pitched mating calls in Eucalyptus canopies.
